Girls Growing Up in Western Europe
This study, commissioned by the Ministry of Science and completed in 1997, provides an overview of current female socialization, covering many aspects in the lives of contemporary girl: influence of the peer group; leisure activities and play; messages in the media concerning appearance and partnership; relationship to parents; eating disorders and body image; role models; sexual harassment in school; life plans.
